A number of racehorses come out of training every year and what happens to them is particularly close to our hearts. We take pride and special care in finding the right homes for our ex-racehorses. A retrained racehorse can, in the right hands, provide considerable pleasure and fun to their new owner. Some ex-racehorses go on to compete in other disciplines and excel in their new career. The majority can be re-trained, given time, patience, correct handling and training. Thoroughbreds are very versatile, highly intelligent creatures that are used to having regular human contact. However, the athleticism and temperament of a Thoroughbred racehorse does not always lend itself to a second career, so retraining by a competent person is often required.

We have rehomed many ex-racehorses over the years and if you are interested in owning and retraining an ex-racehorse, please do not hesitate to contact us and we can discuss the possibilities.

If you have any photographs of our ex-racehorses, we would love to see how they are getting on and would like to share their achievements on our photograph wall below.
