PONTE CARLO (SOLDIERS CALL ex PONTY ACCLAIM)

We are thrilled to be syndicating this strong colt by Soldier’s Call from a very familiar family to the yard. His dam Ponty Acclaim and brother Claim The Stars have both been trained here to great success. 

Soldier’s Call was one of the fastest juveniles of his generation, winning the Flying Childers and missing out on a Group 1 Prix de l’Abbaye by a narrow margin as a 2YO. He remained a top-level performer at three, placing in two further Group 1s. His progeny are renowned for their speed, toughness, and early maturity. They have been very popular with breeders and buyers since Soldier’s Call retired to stud. 

This colt’s dam, Ponty Acclaim, was a firm favorite under our care. She was exceptionally tough, making nine starts as a 2YO and winning four times, culminating in a dominant victory in the Group 3 Cornwallis Stakes at Newmarket. With a peak rating of OR105, she has proven just as successful in the paddocks, producing four winners from six runners, including Claim The Stars who was trained here as 3yo and 4yo.

Knowing the family as well as we do, we see all the right hallmarks in this colt. He is a strong, athletic individual with great scope and the physical presence of a true sprinter. Given his mother’s precocity, we are aiming for a productive 2YO campaign and hope he can follow her footsteps into the winner's enclosure at the highest level. 

PONTE CARLO made his debut on the 13th April in the valuable Class 2 Sunday Series Novice Stakes at Musselburgh, finishing an excellent 3rd. Importantly, the two horses ahead of him had the benefit of previous race experience, while PONTE CARLO showed clear signs of greenness – suggesting there is plenty more to come.
