It is with great pride we would like to announce the retirement of ART POWER

It is with great pride that we announce the retirement of Art Power. He ends his racing career as a happy and healthy horse who, at the age of 9 and after 46 runs, has shown us the signs that he is ready to hang up his racing bridle. He will return home to Owenstown Stud in Ireland—the place where he was born—to enjoy a well-deserved retirement.

We would like to thank the Srivaddhanaprabha family, Alastair Donald and everyone associated with King Power Racing for giving us the opportunity to train such a remarkable horse. He was a winner at Royal Ascot and secured 7 Group race victories, with the majority of those wins coming at his beloved Curragh racecourse.

His finest day in the sun came in 2023. Off the back of two Group 2 wins earlier in the summer, he showed his immense heart to get back up in the shadows of the post and win the Group 1 Champion Sprint on British Champions Day. It was a performance we always knew he was capable of, and we were thrilled he got the chance to show the world that day.

We will greatly miss seeing his beautiful grey head peering over the door at Habton Grange and his load whinny if we were too slow with his breakfast. He has been a permanent fixture in the yard for 7 years and has brought so many fabulous memories to so many people. We wish him a long and happy retirement—by 'eck, he has definitely earned it!
