RETRAINING EX-RACEHORSES FROM HABTON GRANGE
Finding the Right Homes for Our Retired Racehorses
The future welfare of our horses is something we care deeply about. Each year, a number of racehorses leave training, and we take great pride in ensuring they are given every opportunity to enjoy a happy and fulfilling life beyond the racecourse.
With the right care, patience and retraining, many former racehorses can go on to enjoy rewarding second careers. Thoroughbreds are intelligent, versatile horses that are accustomed to regular human contact, and many adapt successfully to new disciplines, bringing enormous enjoyment and satisfaction to their new owners.
However, every horse is an individual. The athleticism and temperament that make a Thoroughbred successful on the racecourse may not always suit a different role, and careful handling, appropriate training and an understanding of the breed are essential. Retraining takes time, patience and commitment, but in the right hands, an ex-racehorse can become a much-loved and valued partner.
Over the years, we have been delighted to find new homes for many of our former racehorses, and their welfare remains close to our hearts. If you are interested in giving an ex-racehorse a new home and helping them embark on their next chapter, please get in touch. We would be happy to discuss the possibilities with you.
We'd Love to Hear From You!
