Our Facilities
Exceptional Facilities for Training Champions
The right facilities are fundamental to producing happy, healthy and successful racehorses. At our yards, we combine extensive training grounds, first-class gallops and comprehensive schooling facilities with the experience and care needed to bring out the best in every horse.
Across our locations at Habton Grange and Easthorpe, we have developed an environment that supports every stage of a racehorse's training and development. From building fitness and stamina to refining jumping technique and preparing for the demands of the racecourse, our facilities allow us to tailor each horse's programme to its individual needs, whatever the season or weather.
With more than 150 horseboxes across four yards, an extensive choice of grass and all-weather gallops, and a wide range of schooling obstacles, we have the facilities, flexibility and expertise to provide our horses with the very best preparation for racing.
The Stables
Our facilities comprise more than 150 horseboxes spread across four yards: three at Habton Grange and one at Easthorpe. Together, they provide the space and facilities needed to care for and train our horses to the highest standards.
The Gallops
High-quality gallops are essential to the successful training and development of racehorses. We are fortunate to have some outstanding facilities, with an extensive selection of grass and all-weather gallops designed to meet the varied needs of our horses throughout the year.
Grass Gallops
Our grass gallops offer a wide variety of training options, including summer and winter gallops, uphill and flat terrain, and dedicated gallops for two-year-olds. Ranging in distance from five furlongs to two miles, they provide an excellent environment for developing fitness, assessing ability and preparing horses for the demands of racing.
All-Weather Gallops
At Habton Grange, we have a one-mile-and-two-furlong flat-loop all-weather gallop, while Easthorpe boasts two one-mile uphill all-weather gallops.
These excellent facilities allow us to maintain consistent training programmes in all weather conditions, ensuring our horses can continue their preparation whatever the elements may bring.
Schooling Facilities
Our schooling facilities provide horses with the opportunity to develop the skills and confidence required for every type of obstacle they may encounter during their racing careers.
We have dedicated schooling gallops featuring a variety of hurdles and fences, alongside a schooling lane equipped with logs, poles, hurdles and fences. This comprehensive range of facilities enables us to tailor each horse's training to its individual needs, helping to build confidence, technique and ability over obstacles.
Paddocks
We have many acres of turnout paddocks, giving our horses valuable opportunities to relax, stretch their legs and enjoy time outdoors. Regular turnout is an important part of their daily routine, allowing them to socialise, play and unwind away from the demands of training.
Our paddocks also provide a valuable space for horses to enjoy a break from work or recuperate following an injury, where appropriate. We believe that providing the right balance of exercise, rest and freedom is essential to maintaining the health, happiness and overall wellbeing of every horse in our care.
Horsebox Transport
We operate our own horsebox transport, giving us greater flexibility and control over the movement of our horses. Having our own transport also helps us manage costs efficiently while ensuring our horses can travel to the races and other destinations as required.
Horse Walkers and Indoor Arenas
Our yards benefit from several covered horse walkers situated alongside indoor arenas, allowing us to exercise our horses whatever the weather.
Horse walkers are a valuable part of our daily routine, helping to maintain fitness and provide controlled exercise. They are particularly useful for horses returning from injury, allowing them to rebuild strength gradually under appropriate supervision. They also offer an effective way for horses to cool down, relax and unwind following more strenuous exercise.
Combined with our indoor arenas, these facilities provide additional flexibility in managing each horse's exercise programme throughout the year.
Wash Down Bays
Each of our yards has a number of dedicated wash down bays, allowing horses to be washed and cared for following their early-morning exercise on the gallops.
These facilities are an important part of our daily routine, helping us maintain high standards of cleanliness and comfort while allowing us to check each horse after exercise as part of our ongoing commitment to their care and wellbeing.
Everything in Place for Their Success
From our extensive gallops and schooling facilities to our paddocks, indoor exercise areas and dedicated care facilities, every aspect of our setup plays a part in preparing our horses for the demands of racing.
We understand that success on the racecourse begins with the right environment, expert horsemanship and attention to detail. Above all, our facilities are designed to support the health, happiness and development of every horse entrusted to our care.
