Eagle Owl did not find the heavy conditions a problem when soaring past his rivals in the closing stages of the Bumper at Sedgefield on the 9th February. Ridden by Brian Harding, the 4-y-o Hawk Wing gelding made smooth headway from four furlongs out and went on to win comfortably.

He finished third in his only previous start at Carlisle over 1 mile 6 furlongs and the step up to 2 mile 1 furlong and the bottomless ground proved to be ideal at Sedgefield.
